Joël Mercier

 

Fields of practice

Joël Mercier practices in labor law, constitutional law, municipal law and defamation. He is an experienced and recognized litigator, particularly in the field of extraordinary remedies and injunctions.
The name of Mr. Mercier is on the list of ethics and ethics counselors established by the Commission municipale du Québec.

Mr. Mercier represents and advises the Conference of Judges of the Court of Quebec, professional orders and municipalities throughout the province.

Me Mercier was the chief prosecutor of the Quebec Municipal Commission in the survey held in early 2015 on the administration of the City of L’Assomption.


Professional activities

Mr. Mercier is the author of the Manual of the Municipal Elected, whose 6th edition was published at the CCH publisher in 2013. He taught municipal law at the National School of Public Administration and the École du Barreau du Québec. He is a member of the Disciplinary Council of the Quebec Bar and has been a member of the Municipal Law Committee. Mr. Mercier is the author of numerous articles and has delivered several conferences in his areas of expertise.
